This September, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and Virginia Foods, in cooperation with KSM Events Management, will hold the first-ever invitational search for the best open-stage magician in the Philippines, entitled “The Search for the Illusive Magikerong Filipino”.
This search is going to be launched to give avenue to all Filipinos who have the passion about magic and to showcase Filipino talent at its best aside from singing and dancing. There will be a series of elimination during the month of August in different parts of the country for the top 12 magicians. The culminating event will be held in Manila on September 30, 2010.
For the Cebu leg, the elimination will be on September 2, 2010 in a closed-door venue then have the finals on September 3, Friday at the Ayala Center Cebu.
Junior, adult, and merlin magicians with experiences on close-up, illusion, stage, children or comedy magic acts are all welcome to join this competition.

A Russian hacker who says he is living in New Zealand attempted to sell the login details of millions of Facebook users – an unprecedented attack on the world’s biggest social networking site.
Detectives from the National Cyber Crime Centre are investigating whether the hacker Kirllos is using New Zealand as a base to commit internet fraud.
Kirllos is offering the user names and passwords of 1.5 million Facebook users for between $35 and $62.70 per 1000 accounts sold on an underground hacker forum.

Great Lapu-Lapu Run to use timing chips for 21K, 10K races; winners to be sent to Hong Kong
Organizers of the Great Lapu-Lapu Run will be using timing chips for the 21K and 10K races that will be held in Lapu-Lapu City on April 18. The run will also have 5K and 3K races but only 21K and 10K participants will use the timing chips.
The race is organized by the Lapu-Lapu City Government and the Lapu Lapu City Tourism Cultural and Historical Commission.
