It’s Comic Con fever in Cebu once again! This year, the organizers have scheduled the 2nd Cebu Comics Convention for October 1, 2011, and it will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the University of the Philippines Cebu College. The activities sent for the event include:

Unlike last year though, C3 (or the Cebu Comics Convention) 2011 is not a free for all event. Tickets are available for purchase at various outlets and will also be sold at the gates on the event date. These tickets also serve as raffle entries for a number of items, including a Wacom tablet, graphic novels, local comic books, Zig marker and other art materials, and some surprise items.

If you want to avail of discounted tickets, you can purchase them on or before September 28, 2011, at Php50. These advance tickets are sold at Thinking Tools SM (look for Patrick at the WACOM area or simply proceed to the cashier) and at The Outpost (look for Jack Piedad). This September, Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and Virginia Foods, in cooperation with KSM Events Management, will hold the first-ever invitational search for the best open-stage magician in the Philippines, entitled “The Search for the Illusive Magikerong Filipino”.

This search is going to be launched to give avenue to all Filipinos who have the passion about magic and to showcase Filipino talent at its best aside from singing and dancing. There will be a series of elimination during the month of August in different parts of the country for the top 12 magicians. The culminating event will be held in Manila on September 30, 2010.

For the Cebu leg, the elimination will be on September 2, 2010 in a closed-door venue then have the finals on September 3, Friday at the Ayala Center Cebu.

Junior, adult, and merlin magicians with experiences on close-up, illusion, stage, children or comedy magic acts are all welcome to join this competition.

3. Green Initiatives maybe green products, the use of eco bags, various green campaigns, green practices etc..
4. There should be no BRAND visible in all the entries submitted.
5. All entries must be in 8” x 10” (8R), colored or B & W prints, not mounted and placed inside an envelope together with the film or raw and jpeg files in a CD
6. All entries must NOT have borders or watermarks.
7. Name of contestant must be written on the envelope.
8. Photos may be taken using either digital or conventional cameras; minimal digital enhancement is allowed

Well, I guess this is the first Blogging Contest in Cebu that have been organized!  As you would know Bloggers in Cebu are already on the heat and starting to be active.  To let you bloom and at the same time earn BIG time! try joining on this contest “Cebu Blog Contest”.

How to join!

1. The blogger has to create a new blog about Cebu. Existing blogs with already entries or traffic are not allowed. The blog may be self-hosted, or it maybe in any of the publicly available free sites like Blogger.com, MSN LiveSpaces.com, or WordPress.com
2. It should be a new blog which will have a PageRank of 0 in Google, and 0 authority as according to Blog Authority, Technorati.
3. The blogger should register at the official website: www.ccebu.net/mandaue
4. Upon approval, he/she should do the following (this will also be provided) :
   • Insert a code that will enable a statcounter, which will count the number of unique visitors and total them.
   • Insert a code that will enable the blog to carry the blogroll of all the other accepted contestants. That means all official blogs will carry a link to all other Cebu Blog contestants.
   • The blogs may also be asked to carry the logos of the sponsors of the Mandaue Business Month.
   • Other than the above, the Cebu blogs are free to add whatever widgets, advertisements, or add-ons that they feel will add to the value of the blog or to their own income. However, please do note that a blog with overwhelming clutter may earn less points in the theme and overall aesthetics category.
